OUR STORY
J&Josh is a London-based childrenswear brand founded by Dayle Fattal (nee Perles), and inspired by her two boys, Jonathan and Joshua, AKA "J" and "Josh".
The company was born of Dayle’s personal experience shopping for her children and the challenges that entailed. Despite her best efforts, Dayle struggled to find beautiful, high quality, practical and more affordable clothes that her boys would love to wear, and that would be durable enough to be enjoyed and passed on to siblings and cousins. Most boys’ clothes seemed either low quality and unattractive, or beautifully made but expensive and impractical or anachronistic.
Dayle wanted to dress J and Josh in only the coolest, chicest, most comfortable clothes, which would also resist their love of playing in muddy puddles, embracing their inner Picasso, and building robust pillow forts. So she decided to create her own brand, driven by her passion for design and her belief that beauty lies in the detail.
Born in Switzerland, Dayle has family origins in Turkey and Eastern Europe, and her childhood was shaped by her rich and diverse cultural heritage. Holidays in the south of France, visits to Italy, and staying with her aunt, a talented interior designer, in London, sparked an early interest in design and a love for the classical style of the Mediterranean.
Although Dayle pursued a career in law, she never let go of her passion for fashion and design, taking up hobbies in interiors, ceramics and painting. Dayle had always dreamed of starting her own business, and after eight years working as a lawyer in corporate law, she founded J&Josh in 2022.
